20:00 — hotel pickupMinibus pickup from your Sharm hotel around 20:00. The drive to the St Catherine area takes about 3 hours, with a 15-minute rest stop.

Midnight — the climb beginsAt the foot of the mountain you meet your local Bedouin guide and start climbing after midnight. We provide a flashlight; wear comfortable walking shoes.

The camel option & the 700 stepsYou can ride a camel for two-thirds of the way up (extra, paid on site) — the final third is 700 steps on foot for everyone.

How fit do I need to be?
Reasonable fitness is needed — even with the optional camel ride, the final third of the ascent is about 700 rock-cut steps on foot. Take it slowly; the Bedouin guides set a manageable pace.
Can children join?
The minimum age is 8, due to the night climb and the physical effort involved. Children 8–11 pay €40.
Is it cold at the top?
Yes — very cold before dawn, even in summer. Bring warm layered clothing; blankets can be rented at the summit.
